O noooooooo..... Can you share the link of that post ...where unapproved was mentioned ....
It was in whatsapp group. Someone shared screenshot of GCMS notes, where the latest note was “ ***officer review***-COPR’s expired and cancelled. File is unapproved. “

IRCC is not issuing COPR / PPR because fo this reason. When a COPR / PPR is issued, the file is closed. If the COPR expires, then it has to be reopened and a final review has to be done again. During the final review it ensured that all documents are valid, and not expired.

Approved to unapproved is just a changed official status and nothing more. The eligibility is not reviewed again again, however, it is at the discretion of the officer to ask for review PoF.

Okay sir. Thank you so much for sharing information and your prompt reply.

@legalfalcon ..I have received a notice yesterday from IRCC asking to confirm on below. My AoR Oct 12, 2019.. assessment passed on May 1, 2020 no updates after.. medical expired.

"Please provide an updated residential address for yourself and any
dependent in order to continue the processing of your application for Permanent Residence"

Is submitting driving license/ bank statement is good enough?
For spouse/dependents.. There's no specific address proof. What's your suggestion for them?

Asking this info is good sign?

Thanks,
Siva

They are only asking you to confirm your address, there is no requirements for any proof.

This is usually sent to ensure that the applicant and all dependents are in Canada, and that the COPR can be sent.

Now am pregnant and unsure what would the next steps be. What if the ask for remedicals again. Could u let me know what would be the next steps I should be taking.

You cannot add a baby until it is born. Legally, an unborn child is not considered a legal entity. If you want to travel before your child is born, you can do so and if your child is born in Canada, the child will be a citizen by birth. If you want to wait until after your baby is born, you can inform IRCC and an extension will be given. I your case since you have not yet received a decision, you can inform IRCC after the birth of your child.

Once your baby is born, you can submit the documents for you baby, the documents will be processed and once done, COPR will be issued to all individuals in the application.

Hi sir, i am a cec applicant with outland minor dependent. My aor is oct 2019 and everything passed since march 2020 based from my calls to ircc. But our medicals already expired last oct 2020 but no request for re medical yet. The last update i got was last yr march 2020 wherein they asked to confirm my dependent’s address. Nothing after that. Now that my BOWP will expire on october 2021, am i able to apply a study permit for my son when I renew the bowp? Also do security and criminality checks expire after u passed it? Im just concerned that my application is taking too long to process and they might have to do all background checks again. Thanks a lot

If your medicals have expired, they may have already been extended. You can IRCC and find our or send a webform. Here is my post on medicals:

#13,193

If your BOPW is expiring you can seek an extension. The study permit for your son will be a separate application and will be processed on its own merits.

See #5,214

Security screening and criminality does have a shelf life, just that in the manual it has been redacted, so we are unclear what the duration is. Since security screening is a time consuming process, and takes a long time, once done, redoing it, logically won't make any sense unless the individual parameters of an application mandate it. This is my opinion.

Since the procedure for the security screening information is not disclosed, and what ever is disclosed is available at https://bit.ly/3apWglN which also has the security screening manual.

Just like medicals and criminality, security also has a shelf life. Since it is not disclosed, we cannot speculate how long it is. Also, security is based on multiple parameters and with COVID, lot of internal policy directives have be issued, such as extending medicals, and the same should be for security and criminality too.

@sichinta

First thing is stop comparing your application with others. Each application is different and there are many variables.

There are many applications that are just stuck, and there is nothing much you can do to expedite the process. You can send a webform as ask about the status or request GCMS notes and see if you have review required.
Hi Legalfalcon,
How to know if a review is required from the GCMS notes?
Thanks in advance

In the last few pages of your GCMS notes, you will have a note which will say "review required."

Sometimes it can be marked on the Assessment section on page 2 of the Gcms Notes, see these examples https://bit.ly/3cuzIks . Other than that you will see it in the Notes section of the file as well. These “Notes” are numbered and dated from the most recent to the oldest.

Hi @legalfalcon
I received AOR in October 2019 and I'm an Ontario nominee (FSW, PNP, outland). My application is approved however, I'm yet to receive PPR.
Could you please help me out here, my question is, if I get married before moving to Canada or getting PPR, how it is going to affect my nomination? Do I have to inform the Province after marriage? Also, what documents would IRCC ask in such scenarios?

Many thanks in advance.
