I just received my PR in e-mail. Yes you read that right. I was surprised when i got an email for IRCC that my PR process is complete with a letter that will be PR till the time I get my PR cards. Also I need to send my CoPR and photo to the local IRCC office to apply for PR card. I have 1 year time to do that. Travel outside canada might be challenging without PR card, will need to apply with the local office for a travel document. This is just not for me another friend of mine too got it. So looks like its automatic landing for inland applicants who have got their CoPR. Hope this helps. Thanks.
Hello, do you mind sharing your visa office and AOR date?

Can you confirm whether this was your PPR email or COPR? I though I saw a different thread where you got a PPR in early March.

PR confirmation bro. PPR I got in March CoPR mid of April.
Hello ,

I have received my PPR on March 6, and received passport on March 16,2020 along with COPR documents ,

Should i do anything to receive PR - EMAIL ??
Please let me know

I have created a web form on April 1,2020 to book an inland appointment for landing & then received a common email as below

Email from IRCC : recived on April 3,2020

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Due to the disruption of services associated with the impacts of the novel coronavirus, all appointments have been cancelled until April 13, 2020:

Invitations for new appointments have not yet been sent. Rest assured that you will be contacted with the next steps.

Regarding landings for permanent residence and other immigration services at the port of entry (POE):

  • You should not travel to a POE to apply directly to a border services officer.
  • Travelling to a POE from inside Canada for the purpose of getting immigration services is not considered essential travel, and you will not receive these services.
We invite you to consult our website regularly. It will be updated as the situation evolves.

We thank you for your patience during this difficult time.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

I got exactly the same response from webform. Few hours later got the PR email, not sure what the criteria or priority that’s been followed. Good luck.

When did you receive this. Did you have to raise a web form first before receiving this? My CoPr was issued on march 11 and don't know what to do next since i am already in Canada.

Hi,

I got my PR email too. Should we send both copies of COPR signed? I was told that client copy should be retained with us, but it is not valid until the officer signs it. Please let me know if you have any details about this. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I found the below paragraph on the Canadian website: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/service-delivery/coronavirus/travel-restrictions.html#purpose
The page was updated 4 days ago. In reference to the highlighted sentences, people can now travel to Canada for landing purposes, am i correct?

Travel for an optional or discretionary purpose
The exemptions under the Orders do not apply to foreign nationals travelling for optional or discretionary purposes. The onus is on the foreign national to demonstrate the purpose of their travel.

Travel for optional or discretionary purposes is broadly defined in the Orders as including (but not limited to) travel for the purposes of tourism, recreation and entertainment.

Travel for the following purposes would not be considered optional or discretionary:

  • delivering economic services, maintaining the supply chain, supporting critical infrastructure, providing immediate medical care, or ensuring safety and security
  • transiting through Canada for non-discretionary purposes
  • engaging in cross-border employment or shopping for essential goods such as medication or basic needs, particularly in border and Indigenous communities
  • non-discretionary family reunification
  • entering Canada to work, study or land as a permanent resident, with appropriate documentation

Does anybody know if eligibility is met before security/criminal verifications? IRCC did not respond to my eligibility question on my webform, just with:

"Your application is currently being processed by the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application is still in process.
· The background verifications are currently valid.
· The security background verification is currently valid.
· The criminal background verification is currently valid.
· The medical examination results on file are valid."

My biometrics read Completed with the day of my AOR. Thank you if anybody can help provide clarity!
