What did they call for? I mean never heard someone getting call from CIC just inform they r working on it?

We did fingerprints at RCMP ! They said it will take few weeks or even month to get results back and then they will call us. Not sure if this is process as we have to submit results within 30days . Can we do something about it ?

Can you please say what did they ask? may be they wanted to check if you are in canada or not.what was the phone number? unknown?
It wasn't a big deal. My documentation was filled out correctly, they just wanted to confirm how my middle name would show up because of how it appears in my passport.
It shows up as 'No caller id' when they call in. It was not to check whether I'm in Canada since my residence and employment history is pretty cut and dry.

Don't ever provide your information to anyone on phone. CIC or any government agency never calls to anyone. it could be scam.
I know how social engineering works. I work in tech.
The IRCC agent called me up and brought up my name and address and did not ask me for any information on my end. They just asked yes or no questions.Government agencies do call you up.
I’ve been on the receiving end of calls from both IRCC and CRA. They do call up if they have questions. I’ve pissed off a CRA agent before asking questions including their badge number and if she spoke in French. She did confirm those as well as verify additional information.

So you could be the unique case that received calls from CRA and IRCC both. In citizenship applications if they have any question, they just simply return application requesting to clarify the issue. There are lot of applicants in this forum whose files are returned for simple things. Most of us never received calls from such departments, unless scam calls.
