Guys, I also received AOR in late October but I'm facing a big problem here. Can anybody help please?
I applied for permanent residency(via Express Entry) while being a visitor in Canada.
I put Canadian addresses (where I stayed for the past 4 months) in my travel history section and also as a current address. Will this be an issue?

So my situation is as follows:
- I created my EE profile around mid-April.
- I entered Canada with an ETA as a visitor around mid-July. It was right after I quit my job in my home country so I just wanted to take some time off and travel around British Columbia.
- I received my ITA on September 5th.
- I gathered all the documents and applied for permanent residency and received eAOR on October 26th.
---> Between the period (mid-July~until now) of my travel as a visitor in Canada, I stayed at 3 places. I rented a place in West Vancouver(Mid July~End of July), Coquitlam(End of July~September) and Burnaby(September~until now), solely for a place to stay while travelling. I put the West Vancouver address(my boyfriend's address) as my mailing address and Burnaby address as a current address. And I put all the addresses in my travel history section and listed the period I stayed at each place.

I never thought this could be an issue until now. This morning I randomly came across to this thought and searched online. I found few answers in Quora that you're eligible to apply for PR from any country, even as a visitor in Canada, but you cannot put a Canadian address as your current address. And few answers even say you cannot apply for PR in Canada at the first place. So I'm really confused and worried at the moment...
Can somebody help me with this issue, please? And is there a possibility that my application for PR could be rejected because of this?
Relax. Update your address proactively. You should be fine

Supposedly it is the same timeline for everyone, 6 months in average. Although of course there are some lucky ones who get PR in 3 months:)

What is the update of your MEP? Passed? No?

AoR 12 Oct
MEP 8 Nov
BG - no change since AoR (not applicable)
Details in signature

IF you're inland candidate the BG status will show as IP2 since AOR or MEP ...

what does this mean? Background check status will show as IP2?

I recently submitted my application (in november actually) and I am inland. My background check says Not applicable. What does that mean?

Means nothing much. Inland candidates see Not Applicable followed by we are processing your background checks. Most outland candidates see Your background check is in progress. Doesn't mean anything atleast these days. May be in the past they were reflection of progress of files. Not anymore.

yeah, this makes sense to me.

Thanks

From what I gather background checks is one of the most important part of the application.

It is but the first big hurdle is the Eligibility review. In most cases BG checks will be triggered once case analyst has reviewed documents for eligibility.

BG C has two main parts Criminality and Security. Criminality is also simple and mostly is set pass based on your PCCs. Most GCMS notes show recommendation for Criminality to be set as Passed from Case Analyst based on PCC.

The second part is Security which takes time ... sometimes because it is complex and sometimes because the VO simply doesn't trigger Security checks for months without any reason and files gather dust.

wow, i wasn't aware of this. It must be painful when the security checks are not triggered timely.

let's all hope for the best that our files don't end up in such a pile.

I need to keep myself busy and not think about this process. It is going to take a while. Plus i have applied with family. I haven't seen people with spouse and kids get very quickly. It is usually the single people with uncomplicated histories that make it in record time.

Time to be patient

Really need an answer for this:
Hello everyone,

Also received October 2018 AOR.

I have received additional doc request om my cic yesterday (IMM 5669).
Schedule A: complete a separate and newly completed schedule A background declaration form (IMM5669) bearing an original signature covering the period of 2016/12 to Present.

So, does that mean, I should submit the information covering only this period (2016/12 to Present)?
or
The usual way of covering last 10 years?

Please respond as soon as possible because they want the form back within 7 days.
:(:(
