Is background verification different from Security and Criminality?

Called IRCC today and agent provided following info:

application last accessed : Nov, 2018
Background verification is in progress since Nov, 2018

and agent said application might take year or year and half.

I asked about withdrawing the application and agent said request won't be approve as application is in review required.

previous updates were:
Eligibility: RR
Security: not started
Criminality: Passed
Medical: valid till Oct 10,2019

We are also in the same situation. For us they couldn’t confirm employment but NOC codes were matched. Did you submit additional documents for review required? Did the agent say why it would take up to a year.

Through gcms notes. The case analysts said codes matches but they couldn’t confirm my employment. They did not contact my references they said that the website is blocked by ircc. But I’ve sent additional documents to confirm that I was employed at that company (taxation documents)

ok.We delayed ordering those.I worked in one campany for 10+yrs.Had hoped that it would be straight forward.But lets see now

It makes me so sad, they access your application on November 2018 and then they don’t touch it for 9 months, why they keep inventing people every month if they don’t clear the applications?

When did you order them. Once the notes are here you can proactively submit further documents instead of waiting for them to ask for additional documents which might prevent further delay

When were the photos clicked? I think they shouldn’t be more than 6 months old

They were not even 6 days old

for sending the additional documents? do you just upload them via your CIC account?

Yes that’s so true we only ordered then at 8 months. But the notes will help provide more info and help you act proactively. All the best

July 25th Re-medical done
August 6th Re-medical passed
August 8th PPR!!!!

Thank you all for your encouragement and support. It was a trying time for me personally but I am glad it has finally come to an end. I am hoping that those who are still waiting, get their's soonest. Please, don't give up.
