Passed the test this morning!

Interview was a bit tricky, it looks like they had conflicting information from the US border about my multiple trips there during the past five years... I had to sign a paper that says I allow my immigration officer to get in touch with custom agents in the US. There were many times when I came back from the US by car and the agent at the Canadian border didn't take back my visa waiver paper, and they forgot (or just didn't?) stamp my passport, so my actual dates of travel and the dates in their system didn't match.

So confusing!! Hopefully things get cleared quickly. If all goes well, the officer told me they'd do their best to send me the invite for the ceremony before the 12 month mark of my application (Oct 23).

As you are from a Visa exempt country and you dont require i94, exit and entry information may not be accurate. When returning to Canada, did they always scan your PR card?

Nope, every time I return by car, they do not scan my PR card, just glance at it and wish me a good day. Now I kinda wish I had insisted on them scanning it or stamping my passport... it might become an administrative nightmare from now on.

Hi guy..i'm sharing my timeline here and I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who had a similar waiting time as me because it is getting frustrating...
Application received ... October 20, 2017
AOR ...January 5, 2018
Processing application ...February 12, 2018
Test invite ... March 7, 2018
Test passed ... March 20, 2018

There is no update since then on an invitation for the oath. And my application status is still "In process"... i find the waiting period after passing the citizenship test is very length, any insights? I appreciate it!

If your status has not changed to "Decision Made" yet, then it is very likely that your background checks are still pending. Till those are completed and passed, Oath will not be scheduled.

Did the officer mention anything during your interview about BG checks ? Unfortunately, all you can do is wait. You can contact them via webform or through their call center once you hit the 12 month mark if you still don't hear back. Hope it doesn't take that long though.

Thank you for your reply!
No the officer did not mention anything in the interview. it really went very smooth it took less than 5 minutes. But I guess I will just have to wait. Thanks again!

Thank you all.
Added you to October sheet of global 2017 tracker. Link is in my signature.

Try calling IRCC to find out if your file is in Mississauga visa office or Hamilton?

My timeline is very similar to yours.. My application was recieved on oct 18 and I passed the test on March 29. And also still in process.. It’s most likely cuz of background and residency checks.. all we can do is be patient and wait.. some October applicants didn’t get their test invites.
