The only thing I received was a request for the copy of my child's passport on June 23rd (about same time as IP). However the passport was about to expire so they wanted to know that we had a new, valid one, which we did and sent to them same day (just the copy, not the actual documents). After that, ECAS just showed DM on the date I wrote above and then, we received the letter. No other notification, email..nothing, it just came.
I assume England applicants should expect the same process? And not being an inland applicant makes things slower? I believe other members know how this stuff works, I am afraid I am not of much help here. That said, I did call CIC and email them when I thought things were very slow in two occasions. And I was simply told that since my application has not exceeded the expected time, I should just wait. So it' s always good to keep track of your application if you see no progress -at least you get a peace of mind that they have received everything they asked.
