Thank you,
Already read the guides and gathered all the documents. Sometimes people experience things they didn't expect, so I just wanted to see if there are any other extra tips and/or suggestions to avoid unnecessary delays.

hello everyone! Congrats to all who did their application recently. On my case im planning to apply by next week but I need some advise. I have 2 names on my passport indicated one is chinese name and the other one is English name which is writtens as "ALSO KNOWN AS" in my PR they issued it under my chinese name which every documents follows the chinese name. I was wondering if this time i can use my English name since it was also written in my passport as my other name. Any advice is highly appreciated and thank you in advance.

Regards,
Puzzled

Just a question to folks after applying citizenship is anyone planning to go out of canada for 6 months or more and if so what are the consequences that might be faced ? Is it safe to go for example for settling back hom problems or so ? And even after applying what mailing address should be given does anyone know of a mail store that checks mails and let's know of receiving mails and all and how do you get notified before the oath ? Do you get notified by ecas only or is it by letter ?

And also for people applying from mississauga is it better or for people applying from St Clair is it better or scarborough which local office is the fastest ? Any suggestions please let know if anyone has experiance or advise Thanks a lot ...

Be sure to notify CIC if you leave Canada for more than two weeks in a row. See the section titled “Asking questions about your application” on CIC webpage for “After you apply: get next steps”.

Could you please provide the link to where this information is at? Because I will be leaving in a month for about a month.

What I found that there is no issue if you want to leave Canada, but there are risks associated with it. Here is the link for that:

Check last sub title:

Asking questions about your application

While we process your application, you should only contact CIC if:

you change your address,
you plan to leave Canada for more than two weeks in a row,
you are charged with a crime or
we do not contact you about your file within the posted processing times.

OK so here is the thing I will be applying on Oct 20th, I leave Canada on Nov 7 come back on Dec 5. Most probably I will not receive anything (not even AOR) from CIC during that time. Should I still let them know even though they haven't started the peocess on the file?

I am not sure anyone on this forum is qualified to definitively answer that question.
But you are right, it is highly unlikely that your application would have been processed that early, so it should be alright.

Greetings October Applicants!

I sent my application October 14 and according to canadapost it was delivered today.
I sent it expresspost and paid for signature, but it says signature not available. Anyone experienced that before. I am a bit worried.
Please answer.

I have experienced it before but it appeared online the next day.

BTW did you send it on the PO box address or the courier address. I am not sure if express registered post is considered a courier or a regular mail.
