October 2012 Applicants! Here's our thread!

I didn't see any other thread, so I figure I may as well make one for us. I hope everyone is buckled in for the ride, and of course I'm sure we'll all get processed super fast!

My husband and I are applying to CPP-O and he's currently living and working in the States. We're ready for another year apart but we truly hope it will be less than that. We put our application in the mail this afternoon.

My common law is also in the states, i'm having some trouble with the application process still since I was a SAHM and worried they will deny us for that while I am looking for a job. Did you get an immigration lawyer?

We didn't use a lawyer or consultant for ours, but I think it's not a bad idea to have someone look over your file. What is SAHM?

Greetings! We are applying outland from US (Canadian husband and US wife). Mailed our complete package from the airport via Express Mail Saturday afternoon; just received confirmation from USPS that the package was "delivered" October 10 @ 6:00 PM. Don't know who's around to accept deliveries in Mississauga at 6, but I'm glad it's there. Let the waiting begin!

I'm still checking Fedex for the delivery notification. We sent ours from the states as my husband forgot to get his photos taken and I left the package with him to add them. It's already a day late, so I'm pretty annoyed. Hopefully it'll be delivered by the end of today.

Greetings! Glad to meet you all here! We applied to CPP-O. We sent our application package through regular parcel on September 30th, and it was deliveried to Missisauga on October 5th. My wife is a PR in Canada, and I am currenly working in the US (I am not a US citizen).

Hi everyone,
we sent our application October 1st 2012. We applied inland to Vegrville and I am sponsoring my husband. He came to Canada in May and we got married in July, but we have been together for 4.5 year. We met while he was studying here and then we were long distance form 2.5 years. I hope that we are going to receive some kind of confirmation soon, saying that they have opened our file and are starting to process it, because he's visa is expiring November 12th, but we have attached an application for an open work permit so if everything is ok, he should get an implied status ...
Basically, that's where we are at, I hope more people will join the topic, because feedback from other people is the only thing that makes you feel ok during the long wait.

Hello All !
My app arrived at the CPC on October 11 ! I am applying to sponsor my Cuban husband, we were just married in June 2012. I wish everyone luck and lets hope we get through the approval prossess super fast.

Is it true that we only will be able to check our status online after receiving a notification letter from CIC? Or we can see our status earlier by just using the combination of receipt number and applicant's information?

I believe you won't be in the online system until a day or two after you receive Stage 1 AOR. So yea, you do usually have to wait for them to send you something.

It seems stage one is going quite fast. A couple of people from September have gotten approved already, and much of August is done.

Hey folks....reading through the Aug & Sep 2012 threads I found a spreadsheet that one of their users created that is keeping track of when people are receiving AOR's and Approvals etc. Do you guys want me to do the same for us?
let me know. here is a link to the Aug spreadsheet to give you an idea. It is kinda giving me hope because a lot of people in Aug received their AOR's and Approvals in less than 60 days. Goes to show that they must not process in in order of receieved. Luck of the draw I guess. There are some in Aug who have received nothing...and others in Sep who have received theirs
