Hi All,

I am about to submit my common law application. My wife is in Canadian PR holder and applied for her Canadian citizenship. Actually I applied before early this year under spousal sponsorship. Because we are legally married to but the problem was that my wife had a previous marriage and according to CIC that Divorce certificate was not valid. Unfortunately my wife can not apply for the divorce again because she does not have any contact with her x husband for last 5 years, since then she is in Canada and she does not even know where her ex husband is.

But as I have lived with her for more than a year continuously and I came to India this july 2012, so I have decided to apply as commonlaw this time by showing the proof of their separation as building lease paper and her statutory declaration for separation.

Please give me your inputs about my case and suggestions...I am desperately waiting friends.

I have no experience with a common law application...so I am of no help..sorry :-[ But I did just read on another thread that someone was required to submit additional proof, after they submitted their common law app. this is what was requested:
Dear applicant,

Please be advised that our office is requesting you to submit proof of your cohabitation for one complete year. You must submit documents showing the same address for you and your sponsor for one complete year (bank account statements, utility bills, lease agreements with both names) Failure to comply with our request may result on the refusal of your application.

so I would make sure you are very careful to show specific proof of living together for the 12 months prior to submitting your app. And submit 12 of each of the above (except the lease ;D ) I hope this helps a lil : ) BTW here is a link to that conversation where I read this:

Hi all

Did anyone else send their package via AirSure from the UK to Mississauga? My track & trace status on the Post Office website says:

"Your item, posted on 17/10/12 with reference [XXXXXXXXXX] has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in CANADA"

Does anyone know if there is any further update from AirSure after this, or does it not trace it once it leaves the UK?

Otherwise, can anyone tell me how long after the package being received you are likely to receive email confirmation from CIC?

From looking at our October spreadsheet, what does "Stage 1 AOR (CIC-M/O)" mean?

I cannot suggest anything about confirmation of package being received from AirSure...as I sent from within Canada. But once they receive the package, they are currently taking aprox 65 days to process the package as "Stage 1 AOR (acknowledge of receipt) then your will receive an email within ususally 2 days or mail within 2 weeks confirming you are approved as a sponsor.
Lets say your package was accepted in Mississauga on Oct 22 2012. Then you should get an AOR by December 26 2012.

Except it may be sooner! As lots of people who submited in mid Sep have already received their AOR. But you never know....at the bottom of our spreadsheet is links to other spreadsheets, you can see and analyize for yourself how long people have been waiting in different months for their AOR's

HI Mine is from Manila Do u think how many months would my PR visa would be?

Manila's processing time is listed as 9 months right now:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp


That means that in 9 months they will complete 80% of applications; so you have a good chance that it'll be even a bit quicker than that.

You can use Airsure tracking numbers on canadapost.ca to get delivery confirmation...hope this helps.

ahh so i have 9 months lol im excited to be with my hubby.. from where are you guys?
I send mine through Fedex They have a tracking number and they put the person that signed and accepted the docs.
I recommned fedex
