Canadian Citizen ( Wife) sponsoring Husband ( U.S Citizen - Los Angeles) :

She filed the application with all the documents which includes background check , medical , tax and paid the full amount thro online on Oct 17,2012 to CPP - mississauga .

Do we get any email from them ?

Based on the forum .. it seems whole process will take 10 to 12 months ?? Am i right ?

welcome to the waiting Patience and there is a link for the october applicant if you want to share your info and have an idea of the timeline http://tinyurl.com/9b3k9mb and it depend some time an email is sent for AOR or it can be until the sponsorship is approved or it might come by snail mail depend.
For the process it also depend upon the visa office you are sending your application and whether its outland or inland ,May be you could check the CIC website it will give you an indepth of the processing time ....

I just want to share this.. I met someone yesterday at walmart.. She's a filipina sponsored by his husband who is also a filipino. They sent their application june 2011 and his husband got approval letter august 17 to be exact.. And september she got passport request letter.. By october 2011 same year,she got her visa.. i hope that's how they're working for us also this 2012 or maybe they were just very lucky to have their papers so fast in just 4 months.

Hi sis... There are some people seems so lucky..same like my sister in law she got her visa exactly 4 months and 20 days ( manila). Others , its been a year and still waiting. Keep on praying sis..God will give it to us in the right time...i just realized it is far better take things as they come along with patience.

yes sis...but hoping to be as lucky as them... hahaha been waiting for just a month and a week only but seems like im waiting for a year now...lol
but if what comes along then be it... many of us are waiting as well and all of us wanted to be reunited wd our husband/wife...

Petition filed on October 17 to CPC - M, as of now I only have the Receipt number which got generated when I paid through online.

I have a question about police certificate

Submitted FBI and state clearance for USA period.
Somehow I missed to submit police clearance for the period stayed in india. Only today got the clearance from Indian consulate. I want to include in the petition .
can I send it with referencing to the receipt number or do I need to wait for their letter ?

Let me know what I can do .

Don't send anything until you have a file number ( starting with an F) - it might get lost otherwise. Since you have applied on the 17th of October, I suppose you will hear from them very soon. If you get a sponsorship approval your file will be transferred to the Visa Office who will then have a look at your application - so best is to wait until you have sponsorship approval, and transfer to the VO - then send them a letter stating your file number and UCI, name of applicant etc, and add the Police Check.

Has anyone been able to log into ecas yet? I logged in and my sponsorship says decision made and the other one says application received and medicals received. I am happy and I hope the second part goes as smoothly as the first

I'm getting a little concerned that I haven't had anything to say that my application has been received yet. Looking at the spreadsheet most people seem to show only a few days between sending it and it being received. Are some of these dates when the postal service confirmed delivery, or are they all when an email was received? Some of them are just showing one or two days, but ours was sent two and a half weeks ago. :

Maybe I'm worrying unnecessarily, but it would be nice to know we are at least in the system!

Hey Mandy,

Most people know that their application was received because when they sent their application, they chose signed for with the respective courier/ postal service. That is more than likely the only indication you will receive that Mississauga has the application until the sponsor is approved.

Thanks for that, that makes complete sense. Ours was sent through Airsure from the UK and delivery was confirmed as the 2nd November, so maybe that's the date I need to add to the spreadsheet.
