if the whole delay test for vote conspiracy is true, then i won't get test invite until Federal election next year!!!
on a separate note, look at Quebec vote result, would that delay really matter??????????

I doubt there's a conspiracy. If anything the Current Federal Government would want to speed things up to make people happy, in hopes they would vote for them in the next election. People on this board really need to stop their imaginations running wild.

Not that I believe the conspiracy theory - but doesn't the Quebec election give more incentive to conspire more? lol

Hi everyone, I have been a silent observer and this thread always gave a sigh of relief. I would like to share the timeline of my wife and two daughters, who applied for citizenship in Oct 2017.
  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on October 25, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on December 20, 2017.
  3. We started processing your application on December 21, 2017.
  4. We sent you a notice on February 7, 2018 to appear and write the citizenship test on February 26, 2018.
My wife was out of country in Feb 2018 so we requested to reschedule through email. CIC asked for itinerary to reschedule the test. My wife returned on 23 March 2018 and Test was rescheduled for 4 April 2018. (very efficient on part of CIC).

NOTE: We received email regarding rescheduling and all relevant details but it is never updated on "CAS = Client application Status Page".
  1. We sent you a notice on July 17, 2018 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on August 10, 2018.
  2. You became a Canadian citizen on August 10, 2018.
My experience with CIC has been very good. All steps took place within a reasonable time frame. I hope and prey all the best for all the applicants. Best of luck.

Well said.

Hello everyone,

I passed the Citizenship Test yesterday(20/20), and E-cas status has changed to Decision Made today.
The officer said the Oath Ceremony will be in November as they have already scheduled for October.
Hopefully get Oath Invitation soon.

Just called IRCC. Told them im an October applicant still waiting for a test invite. Turns out my background check is still on going. I honestly have no idea why this is taking so long. In my eligibility period I worked for a crown corporation and another large corporation (I'm talking 5000+ employees) that also did background checks. No issue came up then. Anyone has any ideas why this one is different and taking much longer?

The agent told me that if i dont receive anything soon to call back on my application anniversary so that they can ping my local office but that they are still hoping to meet the 1 year deadline. I honestly dont see it possible at this point but I guess its nice knowing that they have been instructed to say this.

Also turns out my office is Scarborough, admins can you please update my location?

LOL, with just a few days left can they really meet the 1-year timeframe? They probably think we were born yesterday and would believe whatever they tell us...
who knows, maybe the 10(?) of us in this thread will get an email to do a test/oath combo at the same time on our anniversary at a GTA location, maybe we will finally get to meet in person .... that would be fun LOL

I got the test invite after almost 12 months. Can someone tell me what document they mean when they say “bring all the orginal documents you submitted with your application?”

originals of all supporting documents, photocopies of which you submitted with your application like PR card, driver's license, health card, all original passports that fall within your eligibility period, along with a certified translation of all non-English or non-French stamps on those passports, original language proof, and COPR.

Thanks it helped!
