Any October GTA applicant still waiting for test invite?
I applied Oct 19 (delivered) and have been in process since late December. I just don’t see how I can have oath within the 12 month guideline...

Hi,
Can you kindly update my info in excel. I received test invitation on Aug 28th for Sep 7. Any idea how I can prepare for test quizzes, other than reading the book in a couple of days? Thanks

Depends on how you learn, really. For me, taking the free online practice tests and referring back to the book for answers I didn't know helped me memorize things. I only studied the day before the test.

Updated the sheet. I would recommend reading and understanding the book several times, including all the captions under the pictures on every page. Good luck

Same here - It doesn’t look like we will get it done within 12 months at all

Just learned from another forum: someone went back to his home country right after he submitted his app, only came back once for the test , now he was schedule to take oath on sept 5th but he decided not to come and will stick to being PR instead.... meanwhile people who stayed here the whole time and actually want the citizenship are still waiting for test invite ... great job IRCC! All that background check seems to work really well ....

In response to your concerns: A lot of people when they realize they do not have the option to be DUAL CITIZEN due to restrictions from their home-country, they decide not to go with Canadian Citizenship; IRCC may not be able to fig that out during background check because it is a self-choice, individual's discretion to opt out from citizenship and has nothing to do criminal background check. However yes, it is very frustrating for those who are desperately waiting for it for a long time and unfair for them as well for being stuck in the backlogs for people who does not want Canadian Citizenship in the first place.
