They do update it on Ecas.

"We sent you a notice on xxx date to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on xxx date at time. The notice you will receive will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us."

FYI. I had my oath yesterday morning, I kept checking ecas, it was still DM until last night. I checked again early this morning (around 7am), the application status has been changed to Completed.
I just have been to Passport Canada office in Scarborough. I was able to apply my very first passport this morning. It was 24 hours of ceremony.

I don't know how many more are in this situation, but I am too. I think our application is stuck with a slow useless agent. I think we have to wait 12 months and see if things will move, I don't know anymore, but it very unfair and frustrating to see that so many people that applied weeks after you already have their passports and we are sitting and waiting for In Process to change. I'm still waiting for test invite. I feel sorry for us. Good luck.

I'm sure my background should pass, which is still in progress; but what I'm worried is some policeman or government officials are lazy or simply overlooked when CIC ask for my security or criminal clearance back in home country... and local agent here are too dumb to push them but simply wait...
If you call CIC and told your background is done, then at least you can wait peacefully...

Received an email today inviting me to take oath on 19th September 2018 in Edmonton.
Its been 10 months to get to this stage but i'm happy i'm here now.

Could you please update the spreadsheet and to all those still waiting, i know its frustrating but no news is good news so just try to hang on in there.
