Hi I am reading for the test. Do they ask these history and politics questions on the same day in interview? I am reading the official book. Is it enough? Thank you.

Completed my citizenship test today at Vancouver office. Everything went smoothly. During interview, officer congratulated me on passing the test and getting 20 out of 20 correct answer. Then she reviewed my driving licence and passport stumps. Asked do I travel a lot? - which I do actually and said yes.

Then she just smilingly commented, I see you just applied right after you become eligible (i.e. minimum days required), that's alright... smile :).

Me: Yup I was eagerly waiting for the day to apply - did travel quite a bit last year so I had to wait 2 week since Oct 11 to submit my application.

Officer: That's fine.

At the end she said they are waiting for my security clearance and I will receive an oath letter once it is completed. Might take anywhere between 3 weeks to 5 months! A bit surprising but nothing I can do other than waiting.

Does desision made mean all my checks/clearance are completed ? Thanks
Yup...now wait for your oath :)
(You may get responses that talk about alternate endings as technically DM means a decision, positive or negative. For normal applications DM means oath)
You still need to honour the Prohibitions list until you take the oath and sign the Oath form.

I am not sure. But I live in markham. I guess my files should be in Scarborough office.

Scarborough covers so many districts. Maybe that's why it takes too long to be invited for the oath however I don't know how they manage to invite to do the tests which is quite fast but when it comes to oath ceremony, a delay happens. Does anybody know the average waiting for this office before the new law? At my test date, I met a guy who was accompanying his partner for the test and he had done the test 6 months ago but he was still waiting for the oath however I don't know how long after his test, he had become decision made.

Became Canadian on May 1,2018 in Vancouver. Total processing time was just under 7 months. My expectation was about 8-10 months esp due to fingerprint request. The ceremony was very moving and there was about 70 new Canadians. About 140-150 people taking oath twice a week in Vancouver so 300 people a week, which is a lot, but the volume was significant as well. Ecas updated 'Complete' today as well.

Admin please update my timeline. Thank you everyone in this forum for all the help. its a very helpful forum. One observation from me is every application is different and the process is detailed. Its hard but patience is key. Proud to be a Canadian Finally :)
