when i did my test today of citizenship.the officer told me that theres still a background check to be done ,i asked him if it was about the fp request they sent me not long ago ,he said ''yeah,some background check from GRC,you should get the oath in 3-4 month max''.is there any delay i should worry about? its Montreal office...

I would say - at least my version of the test - required reading the book 2-3 times. It wasn't difficult .. but not to the extent that one would pass without reading the book.

i guess my version of the exam was different that yours then.

I spoke to an agent yesterday and was told the same thing. My file went in process on December 13. She told me that your file is still in Sydney office and she was not sure when it will transfer to local office. I only had one visit out my country in 2013 for 40 days I went back home thats it but, I highly doubt that could be the reason for delay. No notes were written on file either.

P.S: I did apply for GCMS notes January 18 but I don't think so it would be any helpful.

My wife was told after her test in Ottawa that her security check is still pending and there is no timeline. She has not been asked for fingerprint yet.

Finally got the 4 line in my ecas status :

1. We sent you a notice on February 2, 2018 to appear and write the citizenship test on March 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment,

Please update in the spreadsheet .

Strange. Did you order GCMS notes yet ?

I did order it a couple of weeks ago, probably will have to wait for another 2-3 weeks to see it. Hopefully this is just another one of those agents who didn’t know what they were taking about

what is GCMS?

GCMS is a case management system and GCMS notes are electronic notes on your file that officers enter into a system. First time any information is entered is when you get AOR. Under the privacy act or the Access to Information act, we have the right to order and view these notes. Can be ordered online and typically delivered in 31 days or more.
