Hi all, I'm new here, I hope I'm posting my question in the right place.
We are PR applying for citizenship under the new 3/5 law.
I have a question about the police check. We already sent a police check before we immigrated. Do we need to do it again?
My country of origin will not give the police check to us directly, they will either send it to the Canadian embassy there, or to the consulate here (in Monttreal).
Does anybody have a similar situation? Which option is better?
And do we need to wait with the application until the police check process is done, or send in the application and let them know that the police check will be sent to them?
Thanks

I am sure it will slow down gradually as the month goes by. If we finish the month in the range of 200 applicants in the sheet that won't be bad. Remember that applicants of this month were the most active here in the forum hoping for 3/5 rule to pass, so they are over-represented in the forum.
January of this year had about 100 applicants in the sheet and their average processing time as per the sheet is 177 days.
Let's be optimistic ;):)

Step 7 – Prepare for your test
You may get an invitation to write your test within weeks after we accept your application. If you have not already started, begin studying for your Canadian citizenship test. Read the official study guide

i did not see any applicants other than me from Atlantic Region. Hopefully it won't slow down the office processing time for the region.
