Hello everyone. Am happy to report that my journey as a PR holder is over and I am now a Canadian citizen. My timeline is below:
1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on October 16, 2017.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s)... on November 15, 2017.
3. We started processing your application on November 23, 2017.
4. We sent you correspondence on February 1, 2019... (Fingerprint)
5. We sent you a notice on March 20, 2019 to appear and write the citizenship test on April 9, 2019 at 10:30 AM....
The test was super easy for anyone who lived and been in Canada for a long time. The interviewer was very polite and did not even ask to check my heavily loaded 2 passports. All in all, we chatted for 2 or 3 minutes and he stunned me by asking if I would be available to come again the next day (today) for the oath ceremony which I took
Before leaving he asked me if I have any question for him, and I asked him why my application was transferred from Mississauga office after 1 year to Scarborough office; to which he replied that he does know the answer or even that my application was in another office for 1 year.
Thank you all for the moral support through out this lengthy process, and a special thank you to the admins and those who periodically update the sheets. I wish you all a bright and happy future and a speedy process if you are still not there yet. Best wishes to everyone.
