Mehran, I recently heard clearence (which is totally different than background check) is taking a lot longer for certain nationals such as Iranians and could add up another year to the average processing time. I don’t want to spread rumers or give false information on this threat, but if that is the case, we need to be more patient. Also, I understand some cases might delay because residency etc. has not been completed. 16 months is a long time to process an application and doesn’t make sense that your case is only delaying for residency etc. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I applied August 2017 and passed the test in February 2018 . I call the call center they told me your both clearance like criminality and security has been done and they are waiting for residency and prohibition. They said ( I am saying they because I call them more than 20 times untill now . Lol ) background check has been done . So is there any other kind of clearance left ? Do you have any further information about clearance that is helpful?

I don’t think he had any clue either , was just reciting what was told by the IRCC - I have heard the same from the calls I made to IRCC and I just didn’t buy it

It seems there are many cases like this, and such long waiting time is not surprising anymore. Unfortunately, I don’t have any further information that’s helpful. We are all in the same boat, man!

Hi, just wondering if anyone is still waiting for test invitation...I'm really speechless about this lengthy processing time!

Still waiting for any reply since "received and in process"!!! All I know after 14 months is that my file was recently transferred to a different office and when I asked why, I got a vague reply that it could be for different reasons but mostly for workload distribution !

My file was transferred there in August, originally was in Mississauga office.

Well, after 14 months, I received test invite today for January 9th in Scarborough!
My file was transferred there in August, originally was in Mississauga office.

Congrats, and thanks as your message gave me some hope that I might see some light at the end after this long wait.

I was feeling the same way until this finally happened today! I have to say though its a very frustrating waiting period.
Hopefully you get yours soon as well.
