Hi,

I have the following time-line for citizenship application. We have a newborn in Canada. Do I need to update something to CIC ?

>> Off-course, stuck in Mississauga Office, although I have moved to Kitchener Since January 2018.
--------------
  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on October 16, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on December 4, 2017.
  3. We started processing your application on December 5, 2017.

You don't need to inform CIC of your newborn. That is not needed. However did you inform CIC of your new residency in Kitchener. They can transfer your file to Kitchener office and your application may get speed up due to less volume of applicants applying in Kitchener than Mississauga.

Yes I did change my address as soon as I moved and I was under the impression they will transfer my file.

I just called CIC and they said my file is transferred to Scarborough due to overload in Mississauga. I am not sure if it will accelerate the processing.

Should I still ask them to move my file to Kitchener (agent told me transfer may take upto 6 weeks and you will be in fresh queue in Kitchener). Any suggestions/advice ?
