I got test invite today (18 Jul). Test is on 15 Aug. Pls update the spreadsheet.

Both my and wife's test are at the same time. I am wondering if it is okay to take our 5yo son with us (he is citizen by birth) or should we leave him with a friend. He is generally quiet and can easily wait away from us (incase they want him strictly outside while we write the test).

They will not allow kids (citizen or not) inside the room. You should leave him with a friend as you said or bring the friend and he will be able to stay outside in the waiting area with them.

Depending on where your location is, you could be waiting a long while or not. We had FP request since Jan 24/send Jan 29 and still haven't gotten test invite. That's almost 6 months since FP request.

They are not allowed inside the room where the test is conducted. You can bring them along with someone who will not be taking the test, and they can wait in the lobby.

I'm going to request faster processing as our applications are going to reach 12 month processing time in next 90 days and my spouse is 7 months pregnant and delivery would be very close to 12 month application processing window. As childbirth requires time to recover from physical and emotional strain, I would request earliest test date.

May not work, but will try anyways.

May not work, but will try anyways.

Don't think they will accept your wife being pregnant as an acceptable reason to expedite your application. If anything they may delay it so your wife can recuperate before test. But it can't hurt to try. You will want to include doctor's note that she is pregnant, otherwise do you really think they will take your words?

Hi all,

Yesterday was my Oath ceremony, i exchanged my expired PR card for a precious Canadian Citizenship certificate (very good deal)

Ecas got updated today, status changed from "Decision Made" to "Complete and a 6th line was added saying "You became a Canadian citizen on July 18, 2018."

End to end the application took approx. 8 months and 20 days, feels good to be a Canadian Citizen finally.
