I got a test notice on Ecas on Jan 24th and the test is on Feb 15.

However, I already had travel plans from Feb 13 - 19. I called the call centre and they said that I can either send a webform or mail the processing office with proof as to why I can't attend. But, it will be entirely upto the processing office whether they accept this or not. I am worried about the risks if they don't accept travel as a valid reason. I requested the call centre to send me an email with the instructions on rescheduling and this is what they sent me:

If you click on the "procedures for abandonment" link, you will see that even if they did not accept the explanation provided, they will still send a final notice.

Have any of you gone through the exercise? If yes, how long was your application delayed for? Also, the call centre informed that my application is being handled by the Mississauga office despite me living in North York.
my wife postponed her citizenship about 3 years ago. In her case, the test invite was sent after she had left the country and we called CIC and were told we have 30 days to provide proof of absence (tickets booked 2 months ago, travel boarding pass and explanation letter); after reviewing all that - CIC sent another invite 1 month later.

I feel, Pre-arranged trip is a valid reason to request to postpone the exam. It could add few weeks of delay to the process - but if you had to do the trip - you go to do it...Hope this helps.

Do you have 2 applications in process. In one of your older posts you mentioned your test date is Jan 22. Also, your timeline in spreadsheet is bit different that you posted today, so I was wondering.

The first test was for me only. Now it is for my wife and my kids. I applied in September before my family, but my application was assessed on 3/5

I really need to know about FP request . is it for everyone applying for Citizenship or only for some applicants ?
I Remember everybody went through this during PR processing !
No, not everyone gets an FP request. People whose name and/or bio profile results in a hit in the RCMP database, are requested to provide FPs, to make sure it's not them.

Added to the sheet. You don't need to prove entry dates during your interview. On your application, you provided consent to IRCC to access your CBSA records automatically. They will know exactly when you entered Canada. You may also have a departure stamp on your passport from the Country that you visited (most asian countries stamp passports on arrival and departure both).
