My son was born on Monday.
My wife's citizenship test is on Feb 2nd. Received ecas update on Jan 10.

Does ECAS "In Process" mean that someone is actually looking into your application or it simply means that your papers were transferred from Sydney to a local case processing office?

Just received Test invite email from Edmonton CPC,
User Id - Sep28,
Invited - 12 January,
Test date - 5 February.

Does ECAS "In Process" mean that someone is actually looking into your application or it simply means that your papers were transferred from Sydney to a local case processing office?

'In Process' means local visa office has opened your application and started processing. I believe right after AOR, file is transferred from Sydney to local visa office. The time after AOR and before In-process, is when your application is in queue in local visa office waiting for an officer to open it up and start processing.

So either i am SUPER DUPER lucky or the officer made a mistake, got an email to write the test on the 5th February at 8:30am and ECAS update invites me for an OATH on the same day at 12:30pm. Which i think is a mistake, as even if they are doing oaths the same day, still i shouldnt get an invitation without my test results.

2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on November 17, 2017.
3. We started processing your application on December 4, 2017.
4. We sent you a notice on January 11, 2018 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on February 5, 2018 at 12:30 PM. The notice you will receive will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

IRCC officers are working very hard and it seems it is an innocent mistake.
