Moreover, the call center agent replied that "application was returned" must have some reason to say that. IRCC does want people to resent duplicated applications and would not instruct them to say that unless sth extraordinary, like loss of applications, happened.

Loss of package could definitely happen and you may never know. At least the courier I use does not require signature.

Deciding whether or not to reapply is personal choice. Cannot be the same for everyone. People will read the thread and make the decision on their own. Saying which option is the best is too early and does not apply to everyone. I also mentioned that I suggest Oct 16 applicants wait a bit longer.

I think people need to calm down about their wait times. There's an update to the averages tab of the spreadsheet that shows, for each category, the average processing time, and now the maximum and minimum reported times.

As for October, sure, there are people still waiting, but keep in mind that with the rule change the CIC has been slammed with applications, significantly more than in most prior months. For perspective, look back to the 'quiet' months of July- max wait reported 62 days and May- max wait reported 73 days.

The process will take the time that it takes.

It has been known in this forum that CIC call center agents are idiots at best. How can they tell you that your application is not in the pile of *all* unchecked applications is anyone's guess. Also, when they say application is returned, then re-applying with the same set of package before knowing why it was rejected does not make sense.

Noone is arguing that loss of package cannot happen. But that it is premature to come to that conclusion because people with Oct 12 delivered dates are receiving AORs as we speak.

You are right when you say Oct 16 applicants wait a bit longer, but that statement also applies to Oct 11 as well.

Interestingly, most applicants who confirm getting AOR during the past couple days are from the October 16th (“lost” batches)

That must be the results of IRCC people’s fear of getting duplicated applications ... after visiting this thread they decided to hurry up so people don’t start Re-sending applications

As a result, I think re-sending applications can even motivate them to work harder on applications submitted before Oct 19.

How do they know that the new application is a re-sent one until they have opened both applications?
"motivate to work them harder" - what does that even mean on a pragmatic level?
the increase in the # of applications have nothing to do with it?

Just some thoughts based on the previous post "after visiting this thread they decided to hurry up so people don’t start Re-sending applications". Don't take it seriously.

i am the one who is still waiting for AOR (app delivered on Oct.20th) and will not re-apply.
but I wonder...
1. how the re-applied applicants would go. (if naturalca updates the followup, it would be great)
2. how the recent AOR is shown up (landmail? email?)

Don't reapply if it's delivered on Oct 20. Wait patiently.

It basically repeat the same thing that the call center has been telling everyone: “ it can take several weeks before the processing begins. There will be no record in the system until the processing has begun.” contact us few weeks latter.
