Hello guys.
Me and my wife are currently reside out of Canada and would be flying into Canada to complete our landing.
Have a few more questions related to my landing.
1. Are the primary applicant and his/her dependant spouse expected to land together?
No requirement as such. If not together, the primary applicant has to land first.
2. How long is the COPR and/or PR Visa valid for?
It is valid for a year from medicals received at CPC date, provided your passport is valid that long.
3. Also, are there any restrictions as far as the minimun duration of stay required in Canada before leaving the country after completing the landing? I understand that we would be applying for the PR card which may take upto 3 months to get delivered. I can provide a mailing address in Canada for receiving the PR card. I am aware that we would need the PR card to re enter Canada , and I can make arrangements to have it delivered to me here once it is received at the mailing address in Canada. The reason for my asking this is I might not be able to immediately commence my stay as a PR. If the COPR / PR visa is valid long enough, then that works for me, but if it's validity is short, then I might need to complete my landing, return to my country and then travel to Canada again at a later date.
There is no restrictions as such, but CBSA asks you if you are moving to Canada permanently. If you say no (which you definitely should), your PR card will not be processed at the time.
Any thoughts?
Thank you.
