I am taking my oath soon & wanted to start the process of surrendering my passport & applying for OCI.

Appreciate if someone could guide me as BLS website only has link for OCI & not surrendering.

Hi BLS sent my OCI application back because the name on my Canadian passport is different than that on my Indian passport. My middle name is there on my Indian passport and Candian does not have a middle name.. What document should I submit to resolve this... They are asking me to get the affidavit. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of situation?

discuss with notary your requirement, they will draft the affidavit for you, if you are ok with the wording go and get the affidavit certified with the notary

Its written on BLS website that we donot have to provide originals of Citizenship certificate and landing paper, notarized copy would suffice
"Landing paper original and photo copy. Notarized copy can be provided in case applicant doesn’t want to give original document with the application."

Just wanted to clarify that you do not need to courier any original documents to BLS for OCI application. You just need to write on the photocopy "This is a true copy of the original". Sign and date it. No need to notarize it either. If you want to confirm, call BLS at 289 498 1320

Is there a chance they would accept notarized copies instead of originals, I don't like the idea of sending originals , who will be held responsible if they are misplaced?
