Hi everyone! I have my appointment to surrender Indian passport. I have a 3 questions

1) I have my Indian passport with me - so would I be required to fill in the manual deemed surrender forms mentioned in the checklist? I have filled the online form though

2) Can I apply for Indian entry visa along with my surrender application?

3) how long did the process take for the people who recently surrendered their Indian passport

you have to take print out of online form

2) Can I apply for Indian entry visa along with my surrender application?
Not sure about it.

3) how long did the process take for the people who recently surrendered their Indian passport
If you have appointment it normally does not take long like half hr - 45 mins... If you have booked in Brampton please make sure to inform security at door that you have appointment.

I think they mean how long it takes to process, BLS claims it’s 2 months from the time CGI receives your surrender application.

1) Deemed surrender form is only if you lost your Indian passport. Please read the website and checklist carefully. You will need to submit a printout of the surrender application form you filled online.

2) I’m not sure. Best to ask BLS.

3) 2 months from the time CGI receives your surrender application. For reference, I applied on Feb 2nd, my application was forwarded to the consulate on Feb 17th. Still yet to receive my certificate or cancelled passport.

Hi Ankush can you please tell me the list of documents we have to put in envelope ?
These are the documents that I had mailed to BLS:

1. Application form (with minor's thumb print and parents' signature on page 3)
2. Document Checklist
3. Photocopy of minor's Canadian Passport (self-attested by parents)
4. Photocopy of minor's birth certificate (self-attested by both parents)
5. Photocopy of parents' Indian passports (Self attested)
6. Photocopy of parents' landing documents and PR Cards (self attested)
7. Marriage certificate of parents (self attested by both parents)
8. Photocopy of parents' driving licenses for address proof (self-attested)
9. Declaration of minor's marital status
10. No Objection Certificate signed by both parents with photographs attached.

Since my PR card is expired and am waiting for new PR Card, I have also included declaration stating that I have applied for a new PR card and have attached payment and courier receipts as a proof that I have sent my documents for processing.

I have had an absolutely horrendous experience with BLS-Purolator.
I sent all the required documents along with my original Indian passport for the Surrender of the passport and OCI process. After a few days back my whole application was mailed back to me without my original Indian passport asking me to 'submit the Indian passport'.
I have made 2 trips to the Brampton BLS and they keep telling me that its Purolator fault, Purolator tells me that its BLS's fault. I am completely lost and dont what what to do now.
Please help me

Kindly help me resolve my below doubts. I will be sending the documents tomorrow-

1. The hard copy of the photo of the child has to be pasted in the form? 2 photos have to provided so can it be provided in small envelope ?
2. In the part B print out of OCI application, if both parents are signing in the "Application for minor section", where will the child thumb print go ?
The signature is in Page 3 right ? After the Part A and PARTB.

3. address proof i have attached in the copy I am sending by postal email. I havent uploaded it online as it was not there in teh checklist. That is okay right ?
4. in the checklist at the end of each page only one parent can sign ?
5. Do they have to be arranged in any sequence ?
6.I have attached the copy and uploaded the most recent passport copy of my husband. That is fine right ? No need to attach the old passport, If I am not wrong ?
1. You don't have to paste it in the application form. Just send one photo in an envelope.
2. Yes, Signature is on page 3. Both parents will sign under Application for Minor Child while child's thumb print will go under Declaration.
3. You are right, address proof to be sent separately via postal mail. No provision for address proof to be uploaded online.
4. No harm in both the parents signing it. We, both, signed it on our child's checklist.
5. It's better to make it convenient for the person going to check the application file, but there is no rule as such to follow any sequence as long as all required documents are there.
6. am assuming you are talking about most recent Indian passport, if that's the case, you are right.

What BLS Brampton customer call number are you guys calling?
So sorry to hear about your experience. They’re incredibly careless.
The number is (416) 307-2237. Mention that you will have to file a police report and hold them liable as well.
Try messaging BLS and CGI on Twitter and flagging this (@ Indiaintoronto and @ blsintlservices). The consulate got back to me with an answer to one of my questions within a few hours.

NEED URGENT HELP PLEASE

Hi guys, I applied for OCI on January 15th in Paris (France) office. There has been absolutely no update on my application. I check OCI page everyday. I have reached out to VFS Paris couple of times, and they have no answer, Their own timelines say 6-8 weeks processing time. It's been 11 weeks already, but nothing.

Any tips please what can be done ? I am a bit desperate to get the OCI since I have a trip planned in May.

Thank you so much for any help!

Hi, I am filling in the OCI application and have a question on the name field.
Given Name on my Canadian passport is 'XXX' and surname is 'first and last name'. In Indian passport Given name is 'first and last name' and surname is left blank. Did anyone come across this situation and did you have to change the names before applying for OCI or where you able to get the OCI with XXX on Given name field?

Dear Maildivyaus,

In such cases where the name appears to be different, an affidavit should be submitted with the application stating that name on Indian passport is same as on Canadian passport.

Below text is from this link: https://www.blsindia-canada.com/CanadaVisaCCT/Toronto-OCI-Checklist-Rev-11-9-March-31-21.pdf

SignatureChecklist for Toronto jurisdiction only. Rev. 11.9,last updated:March 31,21
NAME VARIATION:-If there is a name variation or complete name change, please submit a name change certificate, issued by the Ministry of Ontario or provincial Government in Canada.
A Notarized affidavit may also be required in cases where supporting documents are not attested or, if the appropriate documents are not authenticated.
