OCI process

Oci acknowledgment Vancouver consulate Oct/17 still showing under process. I am flying on Dec/05, any chances i will get oci by then or should i apply for entry visa.

Too close to your travel dates, processing time in around 40 days now, Entry visa will be a good option.

Status update my file will be returned due to really silly mistake by me on the form filled Indian passport details instead of canadian. Don’t know how i missed it. I checked the forms 10 times before sending. ;( will send back after coming back from india now

My OCI BLS Ack application date is Oct 23, and my travel dates are Dec 21st. Will probably wait till the end of this week to see if I get the OCI website ack, if I don't - will probably apply for the entry visa. I'm thinking I'll probably get my OCI before I travel, but better than waiting till the first week of Dec to apply for the entry visa then.

Does that make sense, or am I overthinking the timelines?

I think you should apply for Entry Visa without waiting.
It will be very tight and quite likely that you will not receive the OCI in hand for your travel on Dec 21st

BLS Ack has no significant meaning. Do you mean BLS application date or when BLS status changed to processing at CGI? If the latter, you could get it by Dec 18 or so. It all depends on the OCI Ack which has slowed down by a lot. Not a comfortable margin for Dec 21st travel, but possible.
EDIT: Agree with @abbas.pasha -- I would definitely apply for visa in this situation.

Yup, Oct 23rd is BLS application date. It changed to processing at consulate on Oct 27th. OCI Ack hasn't come through yet.

Unfortunately it is. Lot of Oct 5 are still pending, if those are done today it will be 41 days its trending upwards and with holiday season approaching its bond to increase.

That's unfortunate. You are lucky that entry visa opened up in time.
