My timelines is also the same for a family application of 4. One OCI was couriered last Friday and yesterday other two, waiting on the for the last one to end the season. I called BLS on Monday and they did not provide any concrete information after I received one.

We have a new born whose passport process is just completed. We have a travel plan to India in the first week of September (Can't change this travel plan).
Both parents are PR holders. We are currently located in Montreal. We are not aware of the current processing timelines for OCI and Indian visitor visa. Which is the best option to apply right now - OCI or visitor visa?

Please apply for entry visa for the baby. OCI won't be done within your timeline, most likely.
Entry visa takes a few weeks, but I am not sure about current timeline.

Had your travel been in October, I would have suggested to go for OCI.

Entry visa will be best.

13th April - OCI received by BLS Ottawa
12th May - OCI Application status - Date Of Acknowledgment
25th May - OCI Application status - Under Process
24th-June - Documents Printing Status PROCESSED
27th-June - Dispatched From MEA (OCI ) NEW DELHI

OCI has not yet been received by OTTAWA HCI

Hi, is there any update on your OCI? Has it been received by OTTAWA HCI? Mine is showing 'Dispatched From MEA' on 28th Jun.

Toronto Jurisdiction clearly states that section is for foreign passport details.

OCI is taking anywhere between 5-10 weeks now. Best case scenario you might get it but it's a long shot.
Go for entry visa for now. You can deal with OCI when you're back in Canada.

@vipulgoyal88 It makes sense to use a passport that is valid. Once you receive SC your Indian PP is no longer a valid document it is cancelled and cannot be used anywhere else except when requested explicitly you need to provide a copy or original upon request. We can only use Canadian PP from now on in all documentation.

hi, it makes sense to use Canadian PP for the reason you mentioned. I am confused because of the below document from CGI Toronto's website (please refer page 3):

Entry visa is your best bet like others have suggested. OCI timelines are very long and not particularly reliable. Being in Montreal, your application will invariably be processed at Ottawa and they are notoriously slow in processing applications. I am still waiting for my OCI and I applied on April 12th. This gives you an idea of how slow they are.
