Hi All,
we are a family of '4'. finally received '3' of the OCI Card today and the rest '1' is scheduled to get delivered on Monday, May 1st.
Below are timelines
Surrender Certificate Submitted in Person: Feb 18, 2023
Surrender Certificate Received: March 7th, 2023
OCI Application Submitted ( in-person - Toronto Office ): Mar 20, 2023
Original Documents(Surrender Certificate) received: April 13th, 2023
I would like to Special Thanks .... Pasha Bhai and all others ... who helped me from starting .. applying OCI ... Notary/ Notary Sample/ no of photos / DD Fees / etc,,
Pasha bhai helped me with small to very small queries, he never felt bad Thanks a lot.....
He is an Encyclopedia/Guru in the knowledge of applying for OCI ...
for all others, any information applying regarding OCI .. just go through ( Abbas Pasha) posts starting from December all queries are already been answered.

Hi All, Finally I got my OCI today. Here is my timeline. Application submitted at BLS Surrey, March 21. Apllication In progress at Consulate : March 29. OCI Printed, dispatched and received at Vancouver: April 22. But I have a question: There is no expiry date in my OCI. When do I need to renew it?
If you are between the age of >20-50, you only need to renew after 50.
Am I right in understanding the details here?

I was sent back because my dad's name on the form included his middle name while on my Indian passport it wasn't there LOL. They said the consulate/MEA is flaky and might reject it.Please, let me know how it goes (especially about the payment part -> DD/MO needed or Debit accepted)

BTW payment with debit is possible in Vancouver. The toronto folks might need a bank money order

Yeah I made western union money order. You can make bank draft and money order from anywhere of $345.
Yes canada post has maximum length typing issues lol. Can you believe in 20th century 2023 they have characters limit. I went there first and they couln't make it. I had same issue. So I went to western union and made the draft of $345.

Nope but I'll say this - The BLS staff at Vancouver is a lot friendlier and more helpful based on the anecdotes I see about other centres. She said she can take it but didn't want the consulate or MEA to kick up a fuss and reject it. She said the people processing in India might give me a hard time and I'll have to come in again to do it all over again.
Today went for oci , asusual even with appointment at 9am it took 1030 to call ,so when I filled the oci form it didn't ask for my spouse passport, so I didn't fill it, bls said it needs to be filled ,I said let me do it in my phone it will just take 10 mins , they said you can only fill with us and per application it's 60 dollar . I said nvm , thanks
