Just got my status update on OCI website to processed. About employment letter you type a word document on your own and attest it just need your title employment address phone and how long you have been working . Don’t need an actual company letter.

There is no more walk-ins atleast here at the Brampton/Toronto location effective 16 November 2022.
Has anyone taken an appointment for OCI in brampton recently.. I do not see any appointment till the end of the year.
Checked the purolator option- they are charging close to 260$ for pick up and drop ....exhorbitant rates, isnt it.
Like I said, I had my appointment last week - got the dates the prior week on a Friday.
I am still a Canadian PR card holder but I have a son who was born here. I was looking to apply for PIO for him but looks like there's no option for PIO anymore. Does anyone if I can get OCI for him? Or there's no option for kids who are born here in Canada?
I was in the same boat on Monday. Just stay on the appointment page and keep refreshing. I saw an appointment open up for Tuesday morning, booked it and submitted my docs.
IMO they can easily accommodate walkins but they are not doing it (I saw a lot of people sent back). The office was practically empty yesterday morning. There were people sitting behind the counter waiting for people to show up. I took two steps into the office and was called to a window immediately.
Yes he can get OCI even if one of the parent is of Indian origin. Just get the long form birth certificate which shows both parents name from Canadian birth registry and your marriage certificate, copy of both parents Indian passport if applicable.

Tip: For postal, you can mail-in using Canada Post (and only choose drop-off for return of docs). Cost me only $20 (Canada Post to BLS Ottawa) + $50 (BLS Purolator drop-off for return of docs) = $70 total
