Hi Everyone,

Is there any direct contact number for BLS ottawa office, not the customer care number. My OCI card has reached to their office since last 2 weeks & they are not shipping my card. We applied as a family package, but they shipped my spouse card. This is such a terrible service from BLS

If you can, get a official letter from your employer
Else alternate option is to provide a explanation letter about your employment (self declaration and signed) and add 3 months latest paystubs

How about for someone who is self employed? No paystub available.

Another question, documents that need to be uploaded with the online (web) application, do they have to be like the colour scans of original documents or scans of copies of orig documents? I think I also read some instructions that uploaded documents need to be self attested which would mean the latter option but just want to confirm.

or is it like surrender where we can paste a photo after filling the application ?

You have to upload both a photo and a signature online. You also have to submit one photo at the time of submitting the documents, but do NOT paste this. The submitted photo has to be the same as the uploaded photo.

does any one know how much time it takes from processing the OCI to finally receiving it? on the OCI status enquiry site, it is showing the processed for last 1 week but hasn't been dispatched yet from New Delhi. I thought dispatch should happen within 2 days of processing. BLS still says processing at consulate general. Wondering if I need to escalate. if so, is there an CGI email id where I can reach?

My Processed to Dispatched was 1 day. Many others had it on the same day. We got the OCIs delivers 12 days after Processed.

I mostly uploaded scanned color copies, but a couple of my docs were scans of photocopies. So no issues there.

I created a stamp to be used with the Adobe Acrobat Stamp tool. This will stamp a template of the self attestation on existing PDFs without having to print and rescan them. You can then use the Fill and Sign tool to sign and date the stamp.

BLS Ottawa is really terrible. Everything is slow with them. They held on to my original documents for 50 days. If you are in Ottawa, can you go visit them? They now allow walk-ins from what I have read.

I believe the comments column is tracking number(12 digits) but unable to track using this number. Tried with CANT number as well ... no luck.. any experience with this? Will there be any new status such as "Dispatched"?

I did not have any Additional Information on the OCI Services site, but I could track on Purolator using the CANT number a couple of days after I had the status changed to ready for dispatch.

Just wait a couple more days - it's the end of the journey, so relax and you should have the OCI soon.

try calling BLS n check. My Purolator tracking number was not updated anywhere.. It showed ”Ready for Dispatch” even I after I received my OCI.
I called them and took the tracking nos

I had also opted for Purolator delivery.

The only two statuses I had from BLS were:
(Counter Delivery to BLS Centre after OCI stamping) on 2022-05-27
(Passport ready For Dispatch after OCI stamping) on 2022-05-31

Purolator attempted delivery on the afternoon of 2022-05-31, but I was not home so I picked it up the next day at their drop off location.

At no point was I able to see a tracking number on BLS site, but I could track using the CANT No. on 2022-05-31.

I am calling them everyday 6-7 times, they keep promising it will be dispatched today. But they never keep their promise. I live in Montreal.

The irony of the situation is that my original documents got dispatched from BLS Montreal even though I sent everything to BLS Ottawa. Go figure Not sure how BLS functions
