Purolator picked up the package for my OCI application. The waiting game starts I will update my timeline moving forward so others can benefit from my experience.

True. I can vouch for the extra $66 they tricked from me today (by quickly printing the receipt with courier option (for 2 apps) instead of giving me a chance to opt for pickup).

So this is the 2nd confirmation that Vancouver CGI has stopped processing SC + OCI together. The other candidate from Calgary also said it became effective from 1st April. They are making the rules twisted by the day!

I submitted SC on BLS Toronto (April 2nd). Even I had prepared for SC + OCI but they didn't accept it.

Company HR can always provide you with a current employment letter. Even if they don't, you may draft one yourself and get it signed from your supervisor, on the company letterhead.

How in this world did BLS International win the Extraordinary Brand award at Brand Vision Summit 2022 is beyond me. For the kind of service they provide, it is shocking that they win anything at all. End of ranting

What do mean ? they are extraordinary
to name few extraordinary features
1. Photo specs change by minute
2. Document checklist is so secure no one has knowledge which one is correct.
3.Extraordinary tie up with putolator so much so even Purolator says they are the worst customer.
4. CC is virtually so extraordinary that u will never call again.
Lol I took all my possible documents and yet BLS managed to request one more.....
I got my OCI attested by officers from CGI camp so that BLS cant find fault yet BLS says there is something wrong with my file ..... LOL Extraordinary

Feb 26: Submitted in-person at BLS Toronto
Mar 1: Passport application along with fee details have been received. The same is under processing at the Embassy/Consulate
Mar 10: Surrender certificate is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate.
Mar 14: Surrender certificate has been granted and is available for issuance.
Apr 6: Surrender certificate has been printed.
Apr 7: BLS InTrasit from CGI
Apr 8: BLS Dispatched through Purolator
Apr 11: Picked up by Purolator
Apr 12: Received SC with Cancelled PP

Lol, but my surprise is that it usually doesn't take that long to process the SC, given other experiences shared on this thread if I am correct.

You never know. There is something called BLS that comes in between us and our CGI.

Hi has anyone recently received their surrender certificate? My status is showing 'surrender certificate is granted and available for issuance' for the past 3 weeks. I have raised a query on Sampark as well but no movement or response. So frustrated. My OCI appointment date is on May 5 and now am worries if it will come on time. This is Toronto jurisdiction. Any one in similar boat?

They print the certificate (what your Consulate status shows) and then they send it for signing. Once your certificate is signed they release it to BLS , the BLS status changes to "in-transit to BLS" and within 24 hours BLS Status changes to "Ready to pick up".

Nowadays SC is taking 6-7 weeks to come so do not worry, you will get it before 5-May for sure
