Usually how long will it take to receive OCI?

As per the BLS website it takes 6-8 week, I am still waiting to receive it by the way.

What should be the passport number - Indian or Canadian? I couldn't track my application till now.

Got OCI today. Walkin application at BLS Calgary for Vancouver office.
Applied on Dec17; Vancouver office got it on Dec 19; Printed and dispatched from Delhi on Jan 8; Reached Vancouver on Jan 8; Got it delivered home by Puralator on Jan 13. Took 28 days end to end.

I am preparing for OCI documents.(Calgary)
Can anyone please help me.

Under following section which affidavit required? link or sample for affidavit.
I did name split after citizenship so same name just split first name and last name.

NAME AND PLACE OF BIRTH VARIATION:
"In case name is different in Indian and current passport, please provide a notarized affidavit stating the same."

Secondly anyone have recent experience with Calgary BLS? or just apply online/post ?
Is we have to send original supporting documents too with application ?

I submitted the application in walkin mode at BLS and it was reflecting on their portal as soon as I came out.

Hello,

I am applying for oci for my newborn in Toronto Jurisdiction tomorrow. Scheduled Purolator pickup is tomorrow. Please guide me with following as I am finding confusing information online:
1) Do I have send any original documents from the following:

1. Sons Canadian Passport
2. Sons Canadian Birth Certificate
3. Our current Indian passport
4. Our marriage certificate
5. Our landing papers
6. Our driving license for proof of address
7. Our PR card ( suggested by BLS rep on the phone)

Or just have to send self attested photocopies of the above?

2. On sons Canadian passport copy and birth certificate copy, are his thumbprints required?
3. On sons Canadian passport copy and birth certificate copy both wife and I should sign and date correct ?
4. On MY passport copy, only I should sign correct? Or should both spouses sign on their respective passport copy/ landing paper etc.
5. On the application form, sons thumbprint is only needed on page 3 under declaration correct ?

6. Do we stick our photos on the no objection form or send them separately.

Help will be greatly appreciated. TIA

- Upload Marriage certificate

Your Surrender application is pending due to the following reasons:

- Your mother's name is not matching as per passport, you need to fill online form again with correct name

Please email us scanned copy of the above forms ASAP

In case of any further error in your Application Form or any Pending Documents, we will return back your complete application, so you may re-submit your correct and complete application along with correct documents.

Required documents are detailed under Document Checklist, in BLS Website.

Just sending them in email is fine or should I upload somewhere and mail them? Has anyone received for document request like this and what was done in that case?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone in the group had to get a name change affidavit done for OCI.?

Basically when your Indian has both your name in the given name field and surname is blank. I already did legal name change and fixed/split in Canadian passport.
(Indian Passport First Name: ABC XYZ Last Name: )
(Canadian Passport First Name: ABC Last Name: XYZ )

I was told by BLS to get a name change affidavit. It would be really appreciated if anyone has a sample I might use.

even I’m also submitting OCI card for my newborn. I’ve submitted part-A online and before I start part-b do I need to uplaof the photograph and signature (thumb) ?
Please help me on this, when I contacted customer service she told me to submit the soft copies.

Sending marriage certificate through email is fine. But they might require original forms with signature, so you may have to send that in courier. You can reply back in the same email with queries, so that you can be sure. They will most likely reply within a day.
