oci (indian nationals question)

hi
my son is canadian citizen. we applied for OCI for my son from canada. Now we have urgency in india and we are taking our son to india on visitor visa.
Visitor visa says he should return to canada in 6 months.
meanwhile if he gets OCI. can he stay longer than 6 months. should he come out of india and get into india on OCI for longer stay.
or
can we submit any document and extend his stay in india without crossing broder.

Hard to answer, because I have not heard of such situation before. The entry of your son in India is on tourist visa, so once you have OCI card of your son in possession, go to FRRO office in India and ask for next steps on continuous stay.
