Hello,
I have confusion on my occupation. Please help with your experiences and ideas, especially for seniors.

My occupation is Post-doctoral Fellow shown on my job offer/contract, pay slips, up-to-date reference letter from my employer, however is Veterinarian on my work permit. My main duties are belong to biologist, so I believe it is fine using 2121 as my NOC. Also the main duties have been stated on my up-to-date reference letter from my employer. So I put “Post-doctoral Fellow” in Generic Application Form for Canada, Education/Occupation Details. In Schedule A, #5 You Work Experience in Canada, I also put “Post-doctoral Fellow” as my occupation, 2121 as my NOC, and main duies are suitable for 2121. Additionally, a note has been attached with my application to explain those.

It is ok I fill the form like those? anyone have the same situation, please share and help!

Thank you very much in advance.

What is about your work permit? Is it written there "NOT AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN ANY OCCUPATION THAN STATED"?
I have similar situation, I am a postdoc, by my work permit says that I am programmer ("remarks: postdoctoral fellow" in the bottom of the work permit) + I am not authorized to work in any occupation than stated.
So, I applied as a programmer NOC 2174 (however, at the time I applied [Feb 2013] there were no "postdoctoral fellow" in NOC)

You are good to go. I have done the same. Even i mentioned "postdoctoral fellow" in the experience letter with NOC code. You make sure that, you are sending all the T4A/T4. Include u r NOAs, also pay stubs? If possible get letter from u r HR. (I have attached it).

Good luck with your application

Yes, it is wirtten the same with you, but I did not find anything about Postdoctoral fellow in my work permit. One question here, when you fill the form Schedule A, you put programmer as your occupation, NOC as 2174, the both match? my broblem is I put Post-doctral Fellow as my occupation, but NOC as 2121 (for the occupation of Biologist), they do not consistent with each other. Hopefully it is fine.

Thank you so much for your reply. Yes, I included T4, pay stabs, NOA, job offer and contract, and the referenc letter from my PI stated my occupation as postodoctral fellow and main duties suitable for biologist. My worry is in the form Schedule A, I put Post-doctral Fellow as occupation, 2121 as NOC, they are not consistent. Did you do the same thing? Thank you again.

Yes, i mentioned the same. As u said, as u said 4122 is for postdoc. but none of them matches us. Only we have to go wt our respective NOC code and job duties which r matching. In u r case, i didnt see any probs. Dont worry u will get through.

My Work permit says uni professors. I recommend if you put your occupation as Postdoc please put like "for eg in my case "Postdoctoral Fellow in microbiology and i listed the duties specifically for microbiologist.

Your job title doesn't matter, but the duties should match with your area of specialization.
