Dear all,

I have been granted the TRV and now I will be flying to Canada on next Sunday.

I have to obtain the WP at the PoE so I just would like to know where to appear when I land in Canada?
Is there any CIC office at the airport? And how long does it take to get the WP? What questions do the immigration officials ask in assessing the admission to enter Canada?

Please share your experiences.

Thanks in advance!

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Ask about the work permit when you go through passport control. I've never applied for a work permit on entry myself but if passport control doesn't do it, they will tell you who you talk to.

Just tell the primary inspection, that you are there for a work permit and they will send you to Immigration Secondary, where it will be handled. How long? Depends on how busy the airport is at the time you arrive.

I went through something similar upon my arrival. There was no queue, I was asked some very basic questions and had to have all my relevant information with me (I'm sure they have a check list for everything you need.)

If there's no queue, it shouldn't take longer than ten minutes, or at least that was my experience!

I was in this situation twice. They usually ask you when you plan to leave Canada again (if your work permit/visa is temporary) and if you have a return ticket already.
Then they want to know where you will live or plan to live.
I think once they asked me where I am going to work.

However, it's nothing to worry about. Those questions are standard and the whole process usually takes no longer than 10 minutes.
