Hi :)

1. I am from Mumbai, India and have to go ahead for my PCC. I had a query. Is it necessary to obtain PCC for the Principal Applicant, his spouse and the children in the case of family migration.

2. The address mentioned in our immigration application is our present residential address, since we have shifted recently, while the addresses on our passports are different. How will this effect the application, or the PCC.

Please reply.

1. Yes for all in the application except children under the age of 18.

2. Submit an application to passport office for change of address, perhaps they would change your passport or put an observation on your passport. It is important and better to avoid any confusions in your application.

Also better to apply at the passport office for the PCC for all. It may be quicker and can do address change and PCC together.

Thanks for your reply.

However, I have heard that the process for change of address at the passport office is pretty long. That would definitely go beyond the 120 days that have been given to us. We have received the AOR on 29th September. We do not have a long period in hand.

In such a scenario, would it not be feasible to state the facts, and apply for the PCC directly, rather than changing the address - please reply .... Would my wife not get a PCC because her passport was issued when we were at the old address.....Please revert. :(

When the police conducts verification u are not there in ur old place so how will they give clearance.
Lobo do not waste time and act swiftly. Also if Canadian immigration authorities does some verification u could be just banned for misrepresentation.

Sorry, you got me wrong - that is what I do not want to do - I do not want to misrepresent any facts.

The fact is that when my wife got her passport done we were staying at a different place. Later, we shifted, and around 3 yrs back we got mine and my childrens passport done with our current address. Now in Dec2009/Jan2010 we have bought another place and shifted again - six months back. We have not yet sold our old home. The building is due to be going for re-development.

We have applied in May 2010, with our current residential address, which is the current fact. We have all our documents intact, and all legal formalities completed. I hope I have managed to clear doubts, if any. I sincerely want to get things done in the right way. Thanks for your patient reading and your replies.
