Obtaining Implied Status through Employer pre-screening

I was wondering if it's possible to obtain implied status through an employer pre-screening application. Does it authorize the applicant to work after his/her pgwp expires?

No - this does not give you implied status. To have implied status, your new work permit application must be received by CIC before your PGWP expires.

Which means you need a formal job offer + LMIA as needed.

If you manage to submit your application on time, you can work for your current employer (the one you are tied with under your current WP) while waiting for the new WP.
