Obtaining a police certificate from China while out of country

My fiancée and I have been living in China for a year. We are getting his police certificate now before we leave China in April 2013.

We can’t apply for spousal sponsorship until July/August 2013. We both know that the police certificate is only valid for 3 months after the date of issue, but it is so difficult to try and do anything in China when you are abroad.

So my question is, why do they need him to get a brand new police certificate if he already has one from the entire time that he was there? It’s going to say the exact same thing that he doesn't have a criminal record because he obviously hasn't been back to China. This 3 month validity period is making our lives very difficult and any help would be appreciated!!

Sadly, this is something they are a little strict on. So I would apply in June for another PC and wait until you have it back. I know that's not what you wanted to hear

I think it should be fine. When the passport is requested, they would see the date when the person left China and will see that the person did not come back to the country ever since.

That is the same case as my husband coz he worked in Saudi Arabia and got PC before leaving, and he did not come back after that. He got his PC August 2012, and we filed in February 2013.

PC is reviewed during applicant approval process. You may be still requested.

If you do not mind the delay which could have been avoided if you follow the guidelines, then you might just want to try it out. Some documents have validity who knows why. I doubt the VO will check the date PC is issued and all the travel history in the passport.

In my husband's part, non/past-residents of Saudi are not able to get a police clearance because they do not have an iqama (like residency card) in Saudi already.
So yea, CIC might request his PC again, but hopefully not. I'm sure the embassy knows about this PC request limitation in Saudi, hopefully they will consider the date of issue and the date of exit of my husband.

You're right tho, if the OP could still get a PC from China without having "too much hassle" then they should be better of following the guideline.

There seem to be a few countries which VO considers getting PC is almost feasible, war zone countries for example. China isn't one of them for sure.

Does anyone have a scanned copy of a police certificate from China for my reference. With the name covered, of course. A friend of ours wants to help us to get one from Urumqi and we would like to see this document and show it to him.

My husband and I used this service to obtain a Chinese police clearance while outside of China. It takes about 30 days to process, we received ours in the mail a few weeks ago with English translation. Everything looks great, so I would recommend using it:

I just called the agent but he said only those who have their exit in shanghai, but if you dont have exit stamp in shanghai. he cant make it..

We had our exit stamp in Beijing, and when I e-mailed they asked and I told them I exited from Beijing and they were fine with that. I dealt with a guy whose English name is"Magic" ...maybe he can help you out. He speaks great English

I dont have exit stamp just only shenzhen, macau. and hk.. can I have his email address please..
