Hello, just wondering what peoples timelines are between taking the test and the oath ceremony in Winnipeg office. I have seen a lot more oaths scheduled in the last few months.

Have not received oath letter yet.

At the test, they gave out a sheet quoting 2 to 4 months for the oath if you pass the test. There is a ceremony scheduled for March 4th.

Hi,

Can you share your timeline please?

I applied in Oct 2012, in process since Mar 2013, and my file was transferred to Winnipeg in Oct 2013.

Thanks,

Any problems at your post-test interview? There are oaths scheduled for March 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 24th. Interestingly, the March 5th ceremony is at CBC studios.

No I don't think so, I am a Graduate student here I went to junior high and high school in Canada and I have traveled a few times out of country to visit my parents for vacation but all the stamps on my passport corresponded to the ones i wrote on the application and I gave a good 100 day buffer just incase before applying. So Hopefully I will be called for oath sometime this month.

Oh Man,

I still can't get over how slow the Winnipeg office is! people are getting their test letters less than a year from the day they send their applications and here we are looking at 2 years+!

Thanks for sharing your timeline tho,
Cheers,

Have you complained to anyone about it? Your MP, the provincial Minister of Labour and Immigration?

I have talked to the MP over the phone. But I know there will be no immediate action. She said they are trying to speed up the process...

Do they recognize/acknowledge that Winnipeg is much slower than many other places? Do they give any reason why this is the case? How did it get to be this way? Any hint that they recognize this is unfair/unacceptable or that there is a real concrete place to address it? Or just generalizations and bromides about speeding the process up--whatever that means?
