I live in Nova Scotia. I sent in my application to Sydney earlier this month (October 2014). I am hoping everything goes smoothly and I should have my oath in 6-9 months.

Hi All,

I did my citizenship test and interview in Halifax today. I passed my test and the interview went well. I asked when I may be called for the oath ceremony and was told that there would be oath ceremony in Feb and March in Halifax.

Hi Guys

I so happy Smiley Smiley right now! Just got in the mail my oath letter to attend citizenship ceremony scheduled for 16th Feb, 2015 in Halifax. I did the test and interview on Jan 14th 2015.

Time line - July 22nd, 2014 - Feb 16th 2015.

Good News

Here's my timeline for Halifax:

Acknowledgment application received: February 2013
RQ returned: June 2013
Interview: June 2014 (no test because of age)
Oath: February 16, 2016

I've read postings on another forum by someone in Nova Scotia who states they submitted their application 50 months ago, and were finally called for their oath on February 16th. So it appears that Halifax is finally getting to those who have been waiting much longer than recent applicants who have been fast-tracked.

Best wishes to all of you on your applications for citizenship.

Bellie,

Once you are past 36 months from receipt of your application, try making a case specific enquiry at the CIC website.

Also, have you made an ATIP request recently?

Hopefully your day will come soon.

Thanks for your reply NSTrails.
I ordered ATIP last October and I think what's written are almost the same as those people in the forum such as FPAT required.
I called CIC and told me to call them by March 2015 if I didn't receive any papers yet.

Hello anybody from Halifax who got the oath this February of 2015?
Its been snowing so much. Did they do the oath ceremonies this February?
Lots of no work in the provincial governments too.

Looks like this thread has died out. Just for closure's sake (since I posted in October 2014)... my journey ends in a little over a week.

October 2, 2014 to July 16, 2015... 9 months and 14 days from start to finish.
