2 weeks to 3 months after the DM. That's the bracket so far. I hope you'll get the invite soon.

It took your application 1000 days ?????????????????????????????????????????????????
Yeeeeeeeeeees.

I'm one of those dinosaurs you'll read about in immigration books. It was the old days and much more complicated than now. RQs used to take 2-3 years more. Feel free to browse the forum for lovely horror stories about that!

I had to exert maximum pressure and literally harass the CIC including and not limited to frequent phone calls, bi-weekly ATIP requests, quarterly letters to the agent handling my case and finally MP support which ultimately accelerated the process for me.

when you said letters to the agent handling your case ,, that mean you were writing letters addressed to the local office here in montreal ,, your time line man is shocking ,, alomst 3 years ,, thats carzy ,, what was the thing unusual in your case ,, I mean what there were looking for for that long time ???? ,, I am so happy for you man that you wont deal with them ever

Yes. I noted the name of the agent that interviewed me after the test and addressed the letters to her. Then waited a week and made an ATIP request and read her comments (she obviously didn't reply to me but had to log it in the system), that's how I knew where my file was and what was happening.

Everyone blessed with an RQ had the special treatment with heaps of papers to bring and a long, very long waiting time. Some people waited more than I did, mind you.

After exhausting every option, I went to my MP's office and met with one of his support staff. She started calling CIC on a bi-weekly basis, that's when things really started moving (Those calls by the MPs are logged, they get a ticket number and the CIC staff HAVE to respond to them and not dismiss them like they do with yo and me... They're also trackable in ATIPs and that also gave me some more critical information about my file. At one point, the ATIP even mentioned the call with the MP staff and that a decision was going to be made in the fall of 2016... And DM appeared on October 1st, 2016).

I don't wish anyone to go through what I (and many others went through) but it looks like things got better these days.

Anyway, in your case @paulvoyer, I'm sure it's a matter of weeks, you are at the DM stage and nothing can go wrong. The tough part is really to move the needle from "in process" to "decision made" and you're beyond that! So it's just the oath queuing. Keep an eye on the list of ceremonies (this URL) for Montreal. You'll notice that they recently stepped up the rhythm to 4 per week to clear some of the backlog (The Plaza can host 250-280 candidates per session) and now they're at 2 per week. Hopefully you'll get yours very soon.

Good luck to everyone!

Does any on recently have the citizenship exam? I would like to know what kind of questions were asked?

My wife had her ceremony yesterday (March 13, 2018). This finally concludes our journey! Best of luck for everyone waiting for their oath!

Just for curiosity I went to cic website (find a ceremony date/place) and it shows ceremonies scheduled for 2017 not 2018. Am I on the wrong page? Has anyone checked it out recently a ceremony date for Montreal?

Let me know if you see the same dates...

I'm confused. Why would you ask for a refund if you have DM?

because I have to 2 applications one of them was withdrawn back on July of 2017 ,, and they said that I am entitled to get 100$ citizenship refund ,, which I never got even though my second application is DM as I was saying
