Hi everyone

I am scheduled for the oath ceremony in Vancouver tomorrow. Ecas updated to reflect this. I did however not receive the letter in the mail on time, because of a recent address change.

I spoke with a call centre agent who gave me the info as to what to bring etc. and that I can just show up with my passport and other docs in hand. I am a little worried since I wouldn't have any proof with me of my invitation.

Does anyone else have a similar experience going to the oath without the letter?

Proof of what? Invitation is invitation. That's not a proof.
If you are invited your name is in CIC records and that's official and of course CIC agents have access to their own records. :)

My friend did it last year, they need your and your ID, etc.

No worries my friend and congratulations on your achievement.
Do not stay at home, show up with your documents. A copy of your e-cas status will be great.
Cheers,

The oath ceremony was great! What a humbling experience!

I spoke with a call center agent who said that I should just show up with my PR card, landing documents etc. When I got there I explained myself to the security guy, he gave me some forms to fill out. For the ceremony, when it was my turn to go up and hand in my docs the lady didn't really kno what to do since I didn't have my invitation letter. I told her that I copied the ecas, which didn't really help. She called another officer over who had a form with everyones name on it and found my name. Problem solved!

I am now a Canadian citizen and damn well proud of it!

Thank you for all the help!
