Dear members,

I applied for Citizenship almost five years back and called for the Citizenship test in Feb 2011. I was asked to complete a RQ which I did within 60 days. Subsequently my file was transferred to St Clair and back to Scarborough office. Recently as mid Aug, I called the call center to find the status on my application and they told me that the application is now approved and will receive a letter of initiation for Oath ceremony.

However till today, Ecas is not updated.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the Oath invitation.

Appreciate your thoughts as this will give an answer to my long standing dilemma.

For me, eCAS did not update from when I got invited to the test until when AFTER the oath ceremony.

Suggest you call the CIC and check with them the letter release from CIC for

oath once the letter issue than e-cas update..

THank you Janoo and Keesio. I have called the CIC call center many times and they have no update on "oath invitation".

1) Do you know how long it takes to get the "Oath invitation " letter from the approval date in Scarbourgh office?

2) Is there any other way to find out if my application is really approved? Out of 5 calls that I made, four agents confirmed that my application is approved and one gave the status as still under review.

regards,

1. My understanding is they have to find a ceremony date before you are scheduled. So until that happens, it's a waiting game. Sorry, I don't have better news.

2. Order your GCMS notes and ask to receive them by email. You can go to cic.gc.ca and search "ATIP request" - order them under the Privacy Act (free).

THanks Bella. I have requested for ATIP records and hopefully before it arrives, I will get the oath letter. Is there any other bottlecnecks in receiving the Oath letter once the call center says approved.
