oath ceremony tomorrow

I am just wondering if anyone faced the situation of being away from the country during the Oath ceremony scheduled data and how did you handled the situation? Any information/link/forum discussion would be helpful.

I know someone who was out of Canada during oath but didn’t declare he was. He gave friend’s address for certificate to be sent. Friend received it and DHL’ed to him in home country. He used it to apply for passport at the embassy there. He is back in Canada using his new passport.
