I have my oath ceremony tomorrow.
Have couple of friends and family joining me. I will be in formals but wanted to know if my friends and family (who are not taking oath) can come in formals or traditional indian dress like saree, salwar kameez, etc

In Scarborough CIC centre people were dressed as they are came to a gym... Seriously, very few were in formal attire. So, don't bother much. You'll be fine.

I went to a friend citizenship ceremony in Aug on a hot day. There were women there to take the oath who were in shorts and a t-shirt.

:D You made my day... ;D

The invite letter says to come in formal attire (including all guests) and people who do not may not be able to participate. But at my ceremony some people were dressed fairly casually and no one got rejected.

But I'd dress up just to be safe. I mean you wait so long to get to this moment, why not play it safe?

Oh and to the OP: nice traditional attire like a saree are totally acceptable and even encouraged.

I did dress up nicely (formal) for my sister's ceremony. It is a once in a lifetime event. Plus we took pictures.

It all depends on you and your preferences.

Dress to Impress ;D
