I had oath ceremony scheduled mid Feb. I was called 1 day before oath ceremony and told it is cancelled.

I got citizenship test overseas and informed them.

Cic said will require informal interview.

Could likely be the result if you are not in Canada and were planning to take Oath from outside. A different thread on the forum spoke about IRCC allowing applicants to take oath when abroad, but I'm beginning to doubt that is really the case. Did IRCC call you to say that the oath is cancelled or were you informed via email? What does your tracker say?

If you want a guaranteed oath I would come back to Canada. This sudden decision to allow oaths while broad wasn’t really thought through and with travel obstacles disappearing people are now able to return to Canada to take their oath.

Interview was just ID check.

Oath was cancelled last minute on 15th feb. I am back in Canada, came in November. I told Cic and was allowed to take exam overseas. Waiting for interview date now. Hopefully wont be long.

Tracker back to in progress. Cic said just informal interview is next. Worried interview may take another 6 months now.

Thanks. A couple more questions, if you don't mind: When was you interview? (Recently or back when everything was online?) How long before the interview did you get the email telling you what to do and what documents would be needed?

It was on Feb 16th, 2022. I was informed about the interview in the first week of Feb (Around 2-3rd Feb). They asked for passport copies.
