My wife and i applied to citizenship into two separate applications. I cleared the test a few months back but she hasn't as she never received the test invite. We received the oath invite to talk the oath together. Has anyone taken oath without a test? I read the citizenship act and while it requires the applicant to demonstrate knowledge of Canada and the responsibilities of a canadian citizen, there is really no mention that a test must be cleared first. I assume that the test is one form of demonstrating this knowledge but the officer can get this comfort through other means and thats why we both got invited together even though she didn't clear the test?

i would appreciate anyone sharing their experience if they have been in a similar situation. I will call ircc next week but looking to learn from others experience first.

Well, it looks like you will soon be in the best position to elucidate the question for all of us yourself. If during the Oath they don't mention it, you can directly ask them: "how about my wife's (and every other citizenship applicants) test? Is it not required anymore then? When are you resuming them?"

Will keep everyone posted. Hopefully someone will share their experience before i go through mine

Ask the test question after your wife takes the oath, Don't mess her opportunity ;-)
Please keep us posted as well, good-luck and congratulations in advance.
