Hi all,
I am a Chinese student. I'm studying in USA currently.
I mailed my Canadian visitor visa to NYC embassy on Oct.22. Not any info yet.

I want to go to NYC myself.
Can I just get back all my documents and ask them to give me a walk-in application? I heard that the walk-in application will be processed within 2 days, is that true? Because I can not tell any difference between mail application and walk-in application.

Thank you all

Hey Yiwei!
If you go to the website, you will see that they do not offer walk ins anymore. You can, however, go to the NYC consulate and get your papers back. In some cases, they will ask you to sit there all day and they will give you the visa, and in others they will cancel your application and you lose the $75.
Does this clear things at all?

Don't believe the website... I walked into NYC's Canadian consulate to submit my application.

However, If you have already sent your documents, appearing in person will not help.

Mail in applications usually take more than 2 to 3 weeks to get a nod.
